I had been taking a fish oil supplement for about 15 years and often wondered if there were an organic superfood source of the Omegas. I recently discovered sacha inchi oil and purchased Andrean Treasures Raw Sacha Inchi Oil This is a little expensive for an 8.5 ounce bottle, but I really like it. It has a fresh nutty taste that I take with the last sip of my morning tea or in a fruit/vegetable smoothie. If you don’t like the taste of the oil, these capsules are good source of the organic sacha inchi as well. Here are some of the amazing health benefits of this oil:
- The oil is high in the fatty acids omega 3 (over 48%), omega 6 (36%) and omega 9 (8%)
- Sacha inchi is highly digestible (99%) digestible
- Over 60% of the kernel is full of high quality protein
- Sacha inchi oil is rich in essential and non-essential amino acids.
- It is high in fiber.
Sacha inchiis also healthy and soothing for the hair. When my hair is getting dry, I use this oil as a leave in conditioner after washing it. I keep in on for 15 minutes, then rinse it out. After the treatment, I notice that the ends stay healthy and hydrated. Sacha inchi oil is a great source of vitamin E, which is an active component for regenerating the hair and the unsaturated fatty acids nourish, treat and protect hair (and the skin).
