I have very dry skin – and in the Midwest winters, my skin can get so dry skin that it cracks and burns if I don’t use a humidifier. So, I have to be very careful with soap. An oil based soap is all that I use so it will not dry me out more than I already am. Recently, I bought an exfoliating body wash cloth and use it every week. It is really great for removing those little imperfections on our skin and for deep cleaning in places that are hard for a thick wash cloth to get to: like the neck, back of the neck, the back, in the ears, etc. This cloth is very thin and long, and once I apply my coconut oil soap to it, I either wad it up and scrub my neck or use 2 hands on each end of the cloth to clean my entire back. I use the heck out of it, and machine wash it.
I have recently started taking sacha inchi oil as an organic superfood source of the Omegas and came across Shea Moisture Sacha Inchi Oil Body Scrub. Oh my do I love this scrub. I use it everywhere, especially in the winter! And I use it with the thin cloth that I mentioned. I exfoliate my hands, feet and heels, elbows, I exfoliate my legs before shaving with it, it easily removes underarm residue from deodorant, I exfoliate my face with it at least once a week and my skin is so super soft afterwards – and moisturized. It leaves a slight oily residue on my face after I rinse it off, which I like. Additionally, I apply the scrub to the bottom of my feet and give myself a foot massage in the bathtub.
You can also use it to rub away blackheads from your face or neck – or wherever else you may have them.
The granules in the scrub are not too harsh – for me. I have read a couple reviews that mention that it is too abrasive for their sensitive skin. So, if you have really sensitive skin, it might not be right for you. It is just perfect for my skin, though.
The fragrance is not overwhelming – and it doesn’t smell like flowers, so both men and women can use. It has a light, essential oil smell, perhaps a lemon and sandalwood mixture. Shea Moisture doesn’t specify in the ingredients.
This scrub is SUPER HYDRATING for people with DRY SKIN – give it a try.
